Sustentar pilots activities with chile-growers in Chihuahua

SAI’s Proyecto Sustentar conducted validation workshops and piloted project tools with chile producing farms in Chihuahua, integrating SAI’s Social Fingerprint and USDOL's Comply Chain tools to provide preliminary assessments, improvement plans and capacity building. The Sustentar team conducted site visits to integrate the perspectives of employers, workers and crew leaders/recruiters into the design of project activities and tools.

Farm owners expressed their interest in the project’s capacity building activities to advance social compliance and remediation systems to address risks related to child and forced labor, wages and working hours, transportation, living conditions, and recruitment.
