SA8000 Workshops Draw Insights from Key Countries

(Pictured: Standard Revision Workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam (July 2023)) As part of our ongoing revision of the SA8000 Standard for Decent Work, SAI recently held 13 workshops across 10 countries, gathering feedback on our initial draft materials and input to inform future stages of the drafting process. From everyone at SAI, we would like to thank the nearly 250 people who attended the workshops and provided their valuable expertise and insights. Participants came from SA8000-certified companies, audit firms, government agencies, and human rights and workers’ rights organizations, contributing many perspectives. SAI is now working to analyze and address feedback received from these activities and we look forward to sharing about the next opportunities to get involved in early 2024

Supporting Decent Wages for Workers in Bangladesh

The Global Living Wage Coalition (GLWC), of which SAI is a member, stands with workers and unions demanding that their rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining are implemented, protected, and respected and demands for decent wages, which are in line with independent Living Wage Benchmark estimates published by the Anker Research Institute and GLWC.

The Registry elevates and recognizes consultants who demonstrate a baseline level of relevant training and experience and who look beyond simple compliance, applying a management systems and capacity building approach that integrates worker voice.
