Dr James McAllister is a full time private orthopaedic surgeon in Hilton, KZN. After completing his schooling in Pietermaritzburg, he enrolled in a BSc at the University of Natal. He completed the degree majoring in genetics and biochemistry. He then completed his undergraduate medical degree and subsequently started specialist training in 2004 in Pietermaritzburg.
After completing his specialist training, he worked as a consultant at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital in the trauma and arthroplasty units. He was awarded a Hip and Knee arthroplasty fellowship at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in Scotland between 2009 and 2011. From 2011 - 2013 he worked as a consultant at the National Waiting Times Centre at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Scotland.
His orthopaedic interests include lower limb arthroplasty (primary and revisions) as well as soft tissue knee surgery.
