August Update: Igniting Hope & Community Impact

A message from the team at SARA:

As summer winds down, we’re reflecting on your incredible support and the real change it brings to women and children fleeing violence. Here’s what’s happening this month — and how you can stay involved.

Igniting Hope

We’re so close to our $50,000 goal!

By August 31, help us provide Welcome Home Packs and Food Parcels for women and children starting over after violence.

Every gift—big or small—makes a real difference.

Celebrating 50 Years of Impact at CLR

On Friday, July 18th, the Rapid Response Team hosted a special BBQ at SARA’s Christine Lamb Residence in Abbotsford to mark our 50th Anniversary—a milestone made possible by your ongoing support and dedication.

The celebration brought together residents from our second-stage housing programs, SARA staff, community members, and special guests including Abbotsford Mayor Ross Siemens and Bruce Banman, MLA. With over 140 burgers served, the afternoon was filled with connection, laughter, and meaningful reflection on how far we’ve come as a community.

A heartfelt thank you to the RRT team for organizing such a joyful and memorable event. And to everyone who joined us—thank you for being part of this incredible journey!
