HISTORICAL RELIGIOUS CELEBRATION

HOLIDAYS FABRICATED BY MAN

We have studied the biblical God-given celebrations of the Jews during spring (Passover to Pentecost) and the fall (Trumpets to Tabernacles). There are two more Jewish religious holidays important to the Jews that are not given by God but found in the Bible.

The first is called Purim and it is one month before Passover. It was mandated by Mordecai after Queen Esther was used by God to save all the Jews from execution by Babylon.

The second, Hanukkah, occurred when the Maccabees revolted against Syria’s attempt to exterminate the entire Jewish religion. Hanukkah is an eight-day event which starts anywhere from late November to late December. These are all legitimate celebrations of miraculous intervention on their behalf. We will study each in due season.

What about the Christian Holidays? Not a single one of them is found in the Bible. They were all conceived in the minds of the religious leaders more than 200 years after the New Testament times. The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) devised them. They mostly are associated with [1] the birth of Jesus and [2] the death and resurrection of Jesus.

These events relating to our Lord Jesus Christ are surely worth commemorating. Unfortunately, most of these celebrations have fictitious timelines and fictitious details attached. Very little of it actually corresponds to correct biblical details. A little of it is even downright fictitious.

We will get into that as the Christmas and Easter Season come around. For now, though, we will just appreciate what Heavenly Father provided and what Jesus carried out on our behalf. Through His “work” we have salvation, healing, and eternal life in glory.

FOCUS ON THE RIGHT LANE

It was the summer before my 16^th birthday. I was eligible for driver’s training and went to the class. It would be the first day of driving with the instructor and two other students. The two other students each drove a short distance, and now it was my turn. The car was made especially for an instructor. It came equipped with two steering wheels. One for the student driver and one for the instructor.

I got into the driver’s seat and proceeded to drive. A car was coming from the opposite direction, and as I looked at it, I started to veer towards it. The instructor turned his wheel to pull the car back into my lane where it should be and yelled at me, “Get back in your lane. What are you doing? Haven’t you ever driven before?” My answer was, “No, I have never driven before, that’s why I am in this class.” I didn’t know a thing about driving. I needed to be taught.

I didn’t realize that what you focus on is where your car will take you. I learned very quickly to keep an eye on the right side of the lane I was in, and that the “hood ornament” should be my guide as it would run even with the side of the street. I finished the class and got my license and have driven thousands of miles since because someone taught me how to focus.

As I thought about this memory today, the Lord impressed upon me to share this. You see my friends, what we focus on is the direction we will go in. If we focus on our problems, then that is the direction that we will pursue. If we focus on God’s promises, then we will be taken in that direction. Either one will take us in a direction, and it is up to us to focus on the right one.

Perhaps you have never thought of this before. Perhaps you haven’t been taught just like I had never driven and had to be taught, but the scriptures tell us in Philippians 4: 8-9 to think on these things:

· Things that are true – not the devil’s lies

· Things that are just – not things that are unjust and unfair

· Things that are pure – not the vileness of the world

· Things that are lovely – not the ugliness around us

· Things that give a good report – not always looking for the bad in things

· Things that are virtuous – not things that are filthy

· Things that bring praise – not things that bring condemnation

It is a choice to focus on the right things and not the wrong things. In the world we live in, full of chaos, death, and mayhem it is easy to focus on the wrong things. We must be conditioned to think on the right things, or we will end up in the wrong lane without an instructor to pull us back, thus ending up in a crash. Our children and grandchildren need to learn these concepts while they are young so they will learn to live in the “right” lane by focusing on what is right.

Just as the morning sunrise comes every day, know that I am with you. Yes, there is a rising of my Spirit that will bring forth new things just as the dawning of the day saith the Lord. Where is that rising? You will find it as you come to me and sit at my feet and bask in my presence, for in my presence is found all that you need to rise up and be all that I have made you to be. In the hours ahead, my children you must spend more time with me than ever. In my presence you will find the equipping that you will need to go forth into battle. You must remember that all the pieces of your armor are me. You are wearing me from the top of your head to the souls of your feet. The more time you spend in my presence the stronger your armor will become. It will not allow the darts of the enemy to penetrate. Many have chosen not to spend time with me and have had dart after dart thrust into them, leaving them with scars and gaping holes that are still bleeding. This was never my plan. For didn’t I even walk with Adam of old in the cool of the day? Didn’t I speak to him face to face in the garden that I prepared for him? Yes, that is the time where he received instruction, and that is the time where we had communion. I love you my children and I want only the best for you. There are many voices that will speak and many will be very deceptive in the hours ahead. You will know who to listen to because of the time you spent with me. There are many battles ahead, but you will be protected in MY armor because it has grown stronger each time we commune. So, come to me now, and receive all that I have prepared for you saith the Lord. The battle is going to intensify very quickly and you will need the protection that only I can give. Come to me, come to me and commune with me saith the Lord.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Today many people are being faced with FEAR about so many different things. However, you really do need to know that COURAGE is NOT the ABSENCE of FEAR...But rather it IS the deep knowing that something is so much more POWERFUL and more important than any FEAR. So just be wise and fully TRUST God, have COURAGE and always know that if any FEAR is left unchallenged; It very well could end up PARALYZING you and keeping you in a PRISON of your own making. Today if you're reading this and you’re having real issues with any kind of FEAR in your life; I PRAY for you and I speak PEACE to your troubled heart and mind. I further ask God to HELP you to OVERCOME any and all FEAR that you’re being plagued with; And for FAITH to arise big on the inside of you and to fill you to overflowing with the PEACE of God that SURPASSES all YOUR human UNDERSTANDING...And for God (the peace speaker Himself) to illuminate your mind and your emotions with good thoughts that can only produce FAITH in you and that NO FEAR will consume you in Jesus Name. So have a FAITH filled day and don’t you forget to FEED your FAITH; For as you do...It will STARVE YOUR FEARS TO DEATH. Remember this powerful truth...When FAITH walks in; Everyone of your FEARS...Will RUN out.
