OCTOBER 12, 2025

We pray that this newsletter and its contents that we share will help you on your daily journey with Christ, causing you to grow in the ways of the Lord.

The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity.

This is why we teach so that you can grow stronger in your faith until unity comes in the body of Christ. Take what you have learned and share it with others so that we can further the kingdom for Jesus Christ.

THE SEED PART 14

JESUS – PART 1

After returning to Israel from Egypt, Joseph, Mary, and Jesus lived in Nazareth. He would grow up here with brothers and sisters. Mary hid in her heart what the angel had told her about Jesus and his conception. Jesus became a carpenter.

Luke 2:40 says, “And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.” Jesus was taught the law along with his brothers. There is nothing in scripture that indicates Jesus performed any miracles until he was baptized by John and the Holy Spirit came upon him. He lived the life of a normal Jewish boy.

The Jewish law provided that all males would attend the feast of Passover in Jerusalem. Mary and Joseph along with Jesus went to Jerusalem as was the custom. After fulfilling the customs of the feast, they were to head back to Nazareth. Luke 2:41-50 tells us about Jesus staying behind in Jerusalem at 12 years old. When Mary and Joseph could not find him in the group they were travelling with, they went back to Jerusalem. They found him in the temple sitting with the doctors of the law. Luke 2:46-47 says, “And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors [teachers] both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.”

Mary said to him in verse 48, “…Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? Behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.” Jesus responded in verse 49, “And he said unto them, how is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?   Even though his parents did not understand what he was doing in the temple at age 12, he went back with them to Nazareth. Luke 2:51-52 says, “And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: [his parents, Mary, and Joseph] but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

The promised seed was growing. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, being all man, but also God. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  Verse 14 says, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.”

Jesus God in the flesh was the promised seed. He would grow and become stronger in spirit until the day that was ordained by God for Him to “come on the scene.” Tomorrow we will see how that happened.
