THE LITTLE THINGS
The Lord has revealed to several prophets that God is doing a severe shaking. He must do this because he is coming back for a bride without spot or blemish. Sadly, the church has been lax concerning repentance. Often sins that might be called “little things” are overlooked or hushed up. This must stop.
The “little things” matter with God. The little “white” lies, that are still lies. The little theft of small things at work and stealing your employer’s time by being on the internet instead of working. The half truths which are still lies. The anger, the hatred, the little sexual flirting that seems harmless, but it is not harmless to God. The little unresolved fights between husband and wife; parent and child; neighbor and neighbor. The list of “little things” goes on and on.
We are called to live a holy life. This doesn’t mean that we walk around with a ten-pound bible, a three-piece suit, or dress in long sleeves and no makeup. This means we have separated ourselves from sin because we love God more than temporary pleasures. It means we are determined to crucify our own flesh and tell our flesh no when we are tempted to sin.
Temptation is not sin, but yielding to those temptations even once is a sin. Without repentance there will be many that think they are okay with God that will be greatly disappointed.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Did you notice that it says the old way has passed away? It means that we are dead to those things that were sin in the past. We have put Jesus on the throne of our heart instead of our self. We surrender our will to his will. We choose to live a crucified life.
The little things become big things with God when we sin. We are convicted, not condemned, by the Holy Spirit to repent. When one continues in sin and does not repent, their heart becomes hardened towards the things of God. It is a dangerous place to be because 1 Corinthians 5:5 tells us what the church is to do to a person that stays in an unrepentant state. It says, “To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh [death], that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”
Don’t let the “little things” of sin become big with God. Repent of them. Turn away from them. Receive forgiveness and live your life pleasing to the Lord.
