We pray that this newsletter and its contents that we share will help you on your daily journey with Christ, causing you to grow in the ways of the Lord.

The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity.

This is why we teach so that you can grow stronger in your faith until unity comes in the body of Christ. Take what you have learned and share it with others so that we can further the kingdom for Jesus Christ.

THE SEED PART 6

JOSEPH

Joseph, Jacob’s son by Rachel, was given dreams from God. Being young, he shared them prematurely which caused Joseph’s brothers to hate him so badly that they decided to kill him. Reuben, his oldest brother, tried to stop them, but instead of killing Joseph the brothers sold him to a slave trader, and he was taken to Egypt where his fate would take on a whole new look.

Joseph was sold as a slave to Potiphar. God blessed Joseph in Potiphar’s house, and this caused Potiphar to prosper; but his youthful good looks also caused Potiphar’s wife to lust after him. After trying to tempt him sexually and being refused, Potiphar’s wife lied about her sexual exploitation of him and Joseph ended up in prison.

While in prison he interpreted two of Pharoah’s servants’ dreams.  They had been imprisoned with Joseph. The interpretation would come to pass, and he asked to be remembered by the servant that was set free.

Time went by and when God’s timing was perfect, Joseph was remembered about the dreams and was brought out of prison to interpret a dream that Pharaoh had. Pharaoh was so impressed with the interpretation that he made Joseph second only to Pharaoh himself.

The dream Pharaoh had spoken of was the coming seven good years of food and seven years of famine. Joseph would prepare for the bad years by storing up food in the good years. The famine was far reaching and affected Joseph’s father Jacob and his brothers who eventually came to Egypt to buy food.

While Joseph’s brothers were in Egypt to buy food, God used this famine to bring restoration between Joseph and his brothers. When he revealed himself to them, they thought he would kill them for what they had done but Joseph forgave them instead.

Joseph said in Genesis 45:7-8, “And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity [seed] in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.”

The promised seed was saved! What God told Abraham about being in a strange land for four hundred years was about to take place. God had used Joseph’s hardship to put him in the right place to save his family.

Tomorrow we will see more about how the promised seed was saved through the life of a baby.
