We pray that this newsletter and its contents that we share will help you on your daily journey with Christ, causing you to grow in the ways of the Lord.

The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity.

This is why we teach so that you can grow stronger in your faith until unity comes in the body of Christ. Take what you have learned and share it with others so that we can further the kingdom for Jesus Christ.

LAYING THE FOUNDATION

Having been ministering the gospel for many years, I find it interesting when I meet someone that has joined what we would call a “cult.”

By the word “cult,” I mean an organization that deters from the biblical foundation of what it means to be a Christian. There are some things I can agree to disagree on, but not on the basics.

Years ago, I met a lady that was in a “cult,” and I casually asked her how she came to be involved with this group. Her answer was something I will never forget. She told me that she had belonged to a “mainline” denomination and had gone to her pastor to ask a doctrinal/biblical question. She said he did not have any answer for her, but a person from the “cult” did. That is why she left the “mainline” denomination and joined this cult.

Here are some things that we as Christians “MUST” agree on if we are to have a sound biblical foundation.

1.     That Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. We confirm this principle in John 1:1.

2.     That Jesus was born of a virgin with no earthly father involved in his conception. We see this from Luke 1:27-38.

3.     That Jesus lived a sinless life, although he was tempted in like manner as we are

tempted. We see this from 2 Corinthians 5:21.

4.     Jesus was crucified, dead, and buried. We see this In Matthew 27:35: Mark 15:24; Luke 23:33; John 19:19:32.

5.     Jesus rose from the dead. Matthew 28:1-8; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-18.

6.     The shed blood of Jesus washes away our sin when we repent. Hebrews 9:22-28.

7.     Jesus is seated now with the Father in heaven, making intercession for us.     Romans 8:34

8.     Jesus is coming back to receive us unto himself. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

9.     To have eternal life, we must be born again. John 3:5-6

These are the foundational premises one must believe to be a Christian. There are other things that do not determine salvation. We do not believe baptism in water saves us, but it is an act that follows salvation, as an outward sign of what has happened inside. If you want to learn more, join us each Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm EDT as we start the 4th edition of our ministry school. We will be teaching on Facebook and YouTube. We want to help you find answers to your foundational questions.
