SAUSD ADOPTS UPDATED HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR START OF 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR

SAUSD is committed to ensuring our schools and other District sites remain among the safest places for children and employees. Here are the latest updates for our ongoing health and safety protocols as we begin the new school year.



SAUSD LAUNCHES FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL PHOTO CONTEST

The first day of school has arrived and SAUSD is holding its First Day of School 2022-23 Photo Contest in honor of the occasion! The top three photos with the most "likes" in the official SAUSD Facebook album by noon on Aug. 26, 2022 will win a Target giftcard. SAUSD employees worked hard to prepare for the first day of school! From attending important training sessions, to getting our facilities in tip-top shape, here's a look at what some schools and departments did to get ready for the new school year.

TWO SAUSD EMPLOYEES RECEIVE STATEWIDE HONORS FROM CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL COUNSELORS

Two SAUSD representatives are receiving statewide honors from the California Association of School Counselors (CASC), it was announced Aug. 11, 2022. Each year, CASC gives awards to individuals who have been instrumental in the field of school counseling. Laurie Tristan, a counselor at MacArthur Fundamental Intermediate, was named the California School Counselor of the Year. Dr. Sonia Llamas, Assistant Superintendent of K-12 School Performance & Culture, was named the California School Counselor Advocate of the Year. Congratulations to both! Read more here

VIDEO: SAUSD’S 2022 SUMMER MUSICALS CREATE LASTING MEMORIES FOR STUDENTS, COMMUNITY 

Over 200 students from across the District collaborated on two musical theater productions over the summer. Elementary and intermediate students from 17 schools performed “Annie Jr.” while 150 high school students staged “Beauty and the Beast.” Click here to learn more.
