SAUSD Schools Celebrate Back to School Night 2023

It's that time of the year again, when our schools welcome families to campus to help kick off a successful new school year! SAUSD elementary schools celebrated Back to School Night on Aug. 24, 2023 (click here for photos). Additional Back to School Nights are scheduled for Aug. 31, 2023 for high schools and Sept. 7, 2023 for intermediate schools. Be sure to check with your child's school for full details.

Board of Education Passes Resolution Proclaiming August 2023 as Chicano/a/x Heritage Month

The SAUSD Board of Education at its Aug. 22, 2023 meeting passed a resolution proclaiming August 2023 as Chicano/a/x Heritage Month. In doing so, the District celebrates the population’s significant accomplishments, and seeks to ensure that all students are educated as to the background, history, and contributions of Hispanics in the United States. Board of Education Passes Resolution Proclaiming September as Attendance Awareness Month

The SAUSD Board of Education on Aug. 22, 2023 also passed a resolution proclaiming September as Attendance Awareness Month in SAUSD. The resolution sets forth the importance of creating a positive attendance-going culture across the District, and highlights that good attendance is essential to student achievement and graduation. SAUSD Launches Social Media Ambassador Program for 2023-24 School Year

SAUSD staff gathered at Villa Intermediate on Aug. 23, 2023 for the launch of the District’s 2023-24 Social Media Ambassador program! Participants will highlight our schools and departments on social media throughout the year, while also receiving valuable monthly tips from school social media expert Andrea Gribble of SocialSchool4EDU.
