SAUSD WELL REPRESENTED AT SAC’S TRIO LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE 

The District was well represented during the inaugural TRiO Leadership Conference held on March 11, 2023 at Santa Ana College. SAUSD Board President Carolyn Torres joined SAUSD students, parents and staff at the event, which was sponsored by SAC’s Upward Bound program and its student support services department. SAUSD TO HOLD ETHNIC STUDIES CONFERENCE APRIL 15, 2023

The SAUSD community is invited to attend the District's third annual Ethnic Studies Community Conference on April 15, 2023. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Segerstrom High School, and explores the rich history and cultural contributions of our diverse communities. There will be keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive workshops to highlight the importance of ethnic studies in education. Learn more here.

BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVES RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING ANCESTRAL LAND OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLE

The Board of Education recently approved a resolution acknowledging the District's presence on traditional ancestral land of Native Americans, including the Acjachemen and Tongva people. By way of this resolution, the District wishes to communicate to indigenous students, employees, and other members of that community that they are welcome and respected in the District. MARCH IS ART EDUCATION MONTH IN SAUSD

March is Youth Arts Education Month, a time to celebrate and promote arts and arts education across the country! In SAUSD, schools across the District are holding special classes and events to mark the occasion. In addition, the Board of Education has passed a proclamation declaring March 2023 as “Art Education Month” in SAUSD. Click here to read more. VIDEO: SAUSD HOLDS CENTURY HIGH SCHOOL MODERNIZATION DEDICATION CEREMONY 

The District on March 8, 2023 celebrated the culmination of a $17 million modernization project at Century High School with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Board Clerk Hector Bustos, Superintendent Jerry Almendarez and other district leadership joined parents, students and staff for the afternoon gathering at the school. SAUSD'S GREENVILLE FUNDAMENTAL HOLDS SCHOOLWIDE CAREER DAY

SAUSD's Greenville Fundamental School held a schoolwide career day event March 10, 2023 to introduce scholars to a range of professional pathways available to them after high school graduation. The event drew 42 guest speakers, from ABC7 reporter Jessica De Nova, to homegrown professional boxer Alexis Rocha, to local elected officials including SAUSD Board Clerk Hector Bustos. SAUSD TO HOLD SCHOOL BUDGET COMMUNITY TOWN HALL MEETINGS IN MARCH AND APRIL

The District is hosting a series of community town hall meetings on March 27 and April 17, 2023 to provide information and answer questions about the budget process and how schools are funded.
