The District is hosting a series of community town hall meetings on March 27 and April 17, 2023 to provide information and answer questions about the budget process and how schools are funded. The SAUSD community is invited to attend the District's third annual Ethnic Studies Community Conference on April 15, 2023. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Segerstrom High School, and explores the rich history and cultural contributions of our diverse communities. There will be keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive workshops to highlight the importance of ethnic studies in education. Learn more here.

Nearly 1,000 SAUSD Kindergarten students got a glimpse of future college and career opportunities at Santa Ana College’s KinderCaminata event on March 17, 2023. The event included career booths, a "Si, se puede" march, lunch, and entertainment. Board Clerk Hector Bustos, Superintendent Jerry Almendarez, and other District leaders joined in the event, which promotes higher education and education at an early stage, in the spirit of Cesar Chavez. The school counseling teams at SAUSD’s Lowell and Santiago TK-8 elementary schools have earned the distinction of Recognized American School Counselors Association Model (RAMP) Program by the American School Counselor Association! The RAMP designation recognizes campuses that are committed to delivering an exemplary school counseling program. They join 44 schools in California, including SAUSD’s MacArthur Fundamental that have been named RAMP schools. Congratulations!
