September 2023 Employees of the Month Honored by Board of Education
The Board of Education on Sept. 26, 2023 honored the District’s Employees of the Month for September 2023. The Certificated Employee of the Month for September 2023 is David Villalobos, Curriculum Specialist, Special Education Department. The Classified Employee of the Month for September 2023 is Ana Biedebach, Payroll Specialist, Payroll Department. Congratulations to both! Read more about them here.

School Budget Town Hall Meetings Scheduled for Oct. 5, 2023
The District is hosting two community town hall meetings on Oct. 5, 2023 to provide information and answer questions about the budget process and how schools are funded. The first is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. at McFadden Institute of Technology, 2701 S. Raitt St. The second takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. in Century High School’s library, 1401 S. Board of Education Adopts Resolution Proclaiming October 2023 as LGBTQ+ History Month
The Board of Education has adopted a resolution proclaiming October 2023 as LGBTQ+ History Month to honor the many achievements and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community in SAUSD. In doing so, the Board also recognizes National Coming Out Day, Transgender Day of Remembrance, National Day of Silence and LGBTQ+ Pride Month. To read the resolution, click here.

Board of Education Adopts Resolution Proclaiming October 2023 as National Farm to School Month
The Board of Education has adopted a resolution proclaiming October 2023 as National Farm to School Month. National Farm to School Month recognizes SAUSD’s commitment to promoting healthy eating habits, supporting local farmers, strengthening our local economies, and fostering a sustainable and resilient food system. SAUSD Seeks Public Input on Facilities Master Plan

Photos: Thousands Attend 2023 College & Career + Community Resource Fair
The SAUSD community came out en masse for the 2023 College & Career + Community Resource Fair, held Sept. 28, 2023 at the Santa Ana Zoo in partnership with the city of Santa Ana. Thousands of attendees had the opportunity to meet with representatives from various areas, including District departments, SAUSD CTE technical education, community agencies, community partners, trade schools, military, colleges and universities. SAUSD’s Nutrition Services Department Engages Parents Through On-Campus Classes, Central Kitchen Tours and More
On Sept. 26, 2023, a group of parents from Madison Elementary toured the District's central kitchen facility, where they met with Nutrition Services team members and learned about the daily preparation of school breakfasts, lunches, and snacks for students. Over the last year, the department has hosted more than 50 nutrition classes and similar kitchen tours as part of its ongoing outreach efforts to school communities.
