Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) Superintendent Jerry Almendarez has issued a new weekly newsletter for the community, covering local covid rates, the fentanyl crisis in California, and more. Read it here.

SAUSD is committed to ensuring District resources are used to meet the needs of all students. Our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) addresses the district’s vision for student learning, and demonstrates how the district’s budget supports those goals. All parents, students, and staff are invited to share input and suggestions. The Board of Education on Sept. 27, 2022 honored the District’s Employees of the Month for September 2022. Dawn Aguila is the Certificated Employee of the Month; Luis Zamudio is the Classified Employee of the Month. Congratulations to both! Click here to read more about them.

Students from 11 SAUSD schools participated in the Intermediate Athletics All-District Cross-Country Meet on Sept. 28, 2022 at the McFadden Institute of Technology. Overall, MacArthur Fundamental Intermediate took the highest honors, while other schools and scholars took home team and individual honors. Congratulations to all participants! Read more here.

Segerstrom High School recently held its Senior Conference where scholars had the chance to meet with college representatives, speak with their counselors about Senior Year timelines, and learn about transfer and career education opportunities. The Santa Ana Public Schools Foundation is now accepting applications for $1,000 Spark Innovation for Learning Grants. The grants provide up to $1,000 to educators, both certificated and classified, for curriculum-based projects that do not have an available funding source. Applications are due Oct. 17, 2022.
