SAUSD BREAKS GROUND ON NEW CLASSROOM BUILDING AT CARVER
SAUSD recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for an $8.7 million project at Carver Elementary School that includes the removal of 8 portable classrooms and the construction of permanent state-of-the-art classrooms in their place. The majority of the funding for the project comes from the state's Overcrowding Relief Grant (ORG) program, and a small portion comes from the District's Measure I bond measure. The project consists of a new 10,000-square-foot, two-story classroom building with six restrooms, an elevator tower, and a 2,600 square-foot lunch shelter, and more. Construction began in February and is scheduled to be completed in January 2020, two months ahead of schedule. To watch a video about the ceremony, click here.
