UPDATE ON MASKING IN SAUSD SCHOOLS
|
Gov. Gavin Newsom announced today that the state will end the mandate for indoor masking in California schools on March 11, 2022. The governor added that indoor masking will instead be highly recommended. Santa Ana Unified School District will consult with Orange County Health Care Agency and other educational partners in making a determination for masking after March 11. The District expects to provide more information in the coming days. Read more here.

BOARD RECOGNIZES FEBRUARY 2022 EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH
|
Congratulations to the District’s February 2022 Employees of the Month, recently recognized by the Board of Education. The Certificated Employee of the Month is Cynthia Mocnik, a teacher at King Elementary. The Classified Employee of the Month is Michael Saucedo, a computer technician at King Elementary. BOARD OF EDUCATION RECOGNIZES CARING EDUCATORS NOURISHING ALL (C.E.N.A.) COMMITTEE
|
The Board of Education recently recognized the members of the Caring Educators Nourishing All (C.E.N.A.) committee for their dedication to the District’s students and families. The C.E.N.A. Committee members prepare for the annual CENA event which has been a tradition in the District for more than 30 years. SAUSD employees, community partners, and families give their time to provide a warm meal, toys, and books to hundreds of our students and their families on Christmas Eve.

SPECIAL EDUCATION COMMUNITY MEETING COMING MARCH 16, 2022
|
The District is hosting a series of upcoming community meetings to obtain public feedback as we continue to develop priorities for our special education programs. SAUSD students and staff are busy preparing for the in-person return of the 6th annual Boca de Oro Festival, coming March 5, 2022 to downtown Santa Ana. Boca de Oro encompasses an entire day of music, dance, theater, film, spoken word, visual and media art for all ages. SAUSD artists will perform at various venues during the event, which is produced through a broad partnership to draw the community, families and students together. WINNERS OF LITCON2022, SAUSD’S ANNUAL LITERARY ARTS CONTEST AND FESTIVAL, ANNOUNCED
|
Congratulations to all SAUSD scholars who took part recently in LitCon 2022, the District’s fourth annual Literary Arts Contest and Festival. Contestants used the arts to convey how the pandemic has caused them to grow or "Become.” Winners will perform at the Boca de Oro festival in Downtown Santa Ana on March 5, 2022.
