Deluxe Imitation Porky Hair - 10"

Deluxe Imitation Porky Hair is the perfect substitute for genuine porcupine guard hair, and it makes tying a roach faster and much less expensive. It is identical in color, with a tapered tip and base just like natural hair, so it looks just like the real McCoy. It is all 10" long, so the laborious tasks of cleaning, sorting and sizing the hair are eliminated, and you can simply trim the hair to the graduated lengths required and start tying! Due to the extra weight of our synthetic hair, almost double the weight is required compared to genuine porky hair. So, you should order 2-1/2 ounces for a 15" roach and 3 ounces for an 18" roach. Our experienced roach makers have had excellent results with this fine product, and their tips on use are included FREE with each order!

Brain Tan Look Buff
Suede Buckskin
Maybe the best split leather we've gotten our hands on. A beautifully natural buckskin color reminiscent of brain-tan. There is a grain to this leather but it is buffed down slightly which gives the leather a softer and more natural feel as compared to other commercial splits. Hides average 5-8 sf and have little to no holes. A very nice leather at a very competitive price.

Rifles of Colonial America, Volume 1, 2nd Edition, Enhanced with Expanded Color & New Information!
An in-depth photographic study of longrifles and gunmaking in the Colonial, Revolutionary, and post-Revolutionary periods brought together many rifles with what was known about individual gunmakers and regional “schools” or styles of work. For each of the 92 rifles treated, there are ten or more detailed photos. A description of each rifle accompanies the photographs,
and many important dimensions are given. The text covers the complex subject of the evolution of the baroque and rococo art that adorns these rifles. In this expanded, Second Edition, many of the rifles are now photographed in full color for enhanced quality and detail. Where color photographs were not available, the black & white originals were re-scanned and enhanced. A great deal of new research has been added, along with ten previously unpublished rifles.

“Mesmerizing” Smoke Dance: An Introduction
The “Rebirth” of the Smoke Dance

We originally published this article in June 2021. Based on "votes" it has been one of our most popular. If you are not familiar with this dance style, you will probably be pleasantly surprised. Men's and women's styles range from slow to very fast (feather dancers ain't got nothing on these dancers at full speed!). We have updated all the videos, (improving their quality considerably) and added new content, particularly the video and narrative related to the Red Dress Special Women’s Smoke Dance at the 2022 Salamanca Veterans Powwow.
A Haudenosaunee dance, Smoke Dance is not common outside of the northeastern region of the US. As with many native dances, it has multiple tales of origin which we will explore at another time. The purpose of this article is to introduce this beautiful and exciting dance to those who are not familiar with it. We were unfamiliar with it, except in name only, until adding pow wows such as the Marvin Joe Curry Veteran’s Pow Wow in Salamanaca, New York to the Crazy Crow Trading Post Pow Wow Calendar. Watching YouTube videos, it is not hard to believe their claim as North American’s largest Smoke Dance Competition. Watching Smoke Dance contest videos, you will simply be mesmerized by the beauty and athleticism of the dance, especially that of the women dancers.
