KDC is turning 50!
And we started celebrations with an exciting kickoff to our 50th Anniversary Year! KDC's First Founder’s Day was held on October 25th and resulted in a great turnout from staff, donors, community leaders and KDC board members. Ted Carr, the great nephew of our founder, Luella Hennessey Donovan, proudly accepted the Proclamation presented by Mary Beth Bernard, Assistant Town Manager of Foxboro.

And the celebrations are just getting started! In November, Congressman Joe Kennedy III visited our Attleboro Early Intervention Program and read to the children and learned about KDC's history and more about Luella, who was the private-duty nurse for many of the Kennedy children, including his grandfather . Thank you Congressman for spending part of your morning with us!

We were delighted with the outcome of the start of our 50th Anniversary Year and are looking forward to a year full of celebrations in 2019. Mrs. Donovan would be proud of where we are today! #50yearsofKDC

NEW CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER AT KDC

We are excited to welcome Simon Welsby to the KDC family! Simon comes to KDC with over 25 years of Development experience in nonprofits and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social History and Economics from the University of Hull in England. He has a passion for human services and is delighted and feels privileged to be joining KDC. He is excited for the opportunity to help drive fundraising forward to support our mission. We congratulate Simon and look forward to building a bright future with him on board!
YOUTH 'N' YOGA SESSIONS FOR KDC CHILDREN & FAMILIES

KDC's Attleboro Early Intervention Program has implemented a Youth 'n' Yoga Program for the children and families in our program and it has been quite a hit amongst participants! Did you know that yoga is not only a great exercise, but it also empowers children with special needs? It gives children a path to manage their behavior on their own, which is why yoga is so beneficial for our families. A healthy connection between a child and their caregiver significantly impacts the child's well-being, ability to learn and readiness for their future.
