Connecting Talent with Opportunity: Success at the Thomasville Hiring Event

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, SAWDC AlabamaWorks partnered with Coastal Alabama Community College to host a successful hiring and outreach event in Clarke County. This event connected 140 job seekers with leading local employers, helping candidates find roles that matched their skills and allowing businesses to recruit for a variety of full and part-time positions.


The event was a valuable opportunity for both job seekers and employers to engage and explore potential career pathways, strengthening the local workforce.

Taking Flight: Aviation Hiring Event Soars


On Friday, March 14, 2025, SAWDC AlabamaWorks and Coastal Alabama Community College teamed up to host the Southwest Alabama Aviation Hiring Event in Mobile County.


The event drew over 120 candidates, all eager to explore career opportunities in aviation. It also provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to learn about the aviation educational programs offered at Coastal Alabama Community College, helping them take the next step toward a rewarding career.

Dale Carnegie Workshop

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, SAWDC AlabamaWorks, in partnership with Dale Carnegie Training of the Emerald Coast, hosted the Leaders Who Build – Build Trust, Credibility, and Respect workshop led by Ian Mohorn.

Participants explored the distinctions between trust, credibility, and respect, learning practical techniques to build and restore trust within their teams. Establishing a culture rooted in trust is essential for engagement, collaboration, and long-term retention.

SAWDC Team Builds New Skills in Carpentry

Congratulations to Hayleigh Barlar and Bridgette Young of the SAWDC Team for successfully completing the Skills for Success Carpentry Helper course at Coastal Alabama Community College!


The course, designed to quickly equip participants with practical, job-ready carpentry skills, included a theory component followed by an intensive two-day hands-on lab. Under the guidance of instructor James Gott—whose expertise, patience, and engaging teaching style made a lasting impression—Hayleigh and Bridgette left feeling confident and ready to tackle their next carpentry project.
