WHERE: MOBILE CONVENTION CENTER

We are excited to once again partner with the Gulf Coast Challenge and the Mobile

Chamber to host the second annual Gulf Coast Challenge College and Career Fair on

October 5, 2023. The College & Career Fair is designed to create an opportunity for high

school seniors to explore colleges and programs available post-graduation as well as talk to

industry professionals about high-growth, high-demand jobs in our region and how they

can acquire these jobs in the future. Existing employers within our region continue to have

unfilled job openings due to growing demand and a shortage of skilled workers. Our goal is

to provide a platform for our partners to showcase their jobs and the careers available.

Extending Training Opportunities to

Out-of-School Youth

On July 19, five 2022 Accel Day & Evening Academy graduates met with SAWDC and Bishop State Community College to learn about training opportunities. During their visit, they went on tours of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Health Science Center. Graduates also had the opportunity to gain insight about various training programs, and were welcomed with a surprise visit from President Charles! The day ended with four of the five participants applying for a certification program offered at Bishop.
