SB 219: Design Defects

Effective September 1, 2021

SB 219 changes 120 years of bad law for contractors in Texas. With this new law in place, contractors cannot be held liable for defects, owner-furnished plans and specifications; however, contractors can be held liable for failure to timely notify of defects. Several types of contracts, including oil and gas and design-build, are excluded.
