The Family Dignity Act (SB 799) by Senator Durazo has been referred to the Senate Public Safety committee. This important bill would require CDCR to scan all visiting related documents upon request of a visitor; expands allowable items for children at visit; expands allowable items for overnight family visits. No visitor should be denied a visit because they forgot or lost a birth certificate or other visit related document. Families should not be forced to use institutional laundered linens, nor infants left hungry. Families deserve DIGNITY!
