Safe2Say Something Student Training
As part of a new state law (Act 44 of 2018), an anonymous tip line called "Safe2Say Something" (S2SS) became active on January 14, 2019. This statewide reporting system was created to help stop school shootings, suicides, and gun threats; to help reduce bullying and cyberbullying; and to help intervene with violence and victimization.  The S2SS campaign, along with local law enforcement and mental health professionals, is designed to teach students, teachers, and administrators how to recognize warning signs of individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others, and then report that to a trusted adult OR use the anonymous reporting system.

Students, faculty, and staff will be participating in the training on Tuesday, February 19.  It  is mandatory for all students, faculty, and staff to attend this training.
The S2SS program is being provided through Sandy Hook Promise (SHP), a nationwide non-profit organization, formed shortly after the 2012 mass school shooting in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. The program is age-appropriate and research based, and is being provided at no cost to Basils and to all schools statewide.
