Summer Service
It is important that all students, incoming and current, receive approval before beginning any summer service.  Current students may begin their service as early as Monday, June 10, 2019 with the pre-approval of their Theology teacher.  Students, including incoming freshmen, can receive approval over the summer for their service by contacting Miss Jenna Violi at jennavioli@stbasilacademy.org.  Once approval is received, the necessary service forms can be downloaded from the website.  Those who complete summer service are still required to complete service forms.  Click the link below for service forms, as well as a list of service location suggestions.

Summer Entrance Exam & Practice Course
Saint Basil Academy will be offering an entrance exam in the summer in conjunction with a practice course the week of June 24.  Students taking the summer entrance exam will receive early notification of scores and eligibility for academic scholarships.  The practice course will take place Monday through Wednesday from 9 AM-12 PM with the entrance exam offered on Thursday.  Students may register for the course, the exam, or both.

Graduating Seniors....Final transcripts will be sent out to attending colleges and universities after all grades have been processed and all accounts have been settled. There is no need to request them on Naviance.

As the school year winds down we ask all students if you have NOT completed the following on Naviance, to please do so by the end of the school year. Each grade level was given an assignment to complete - please see the list below:
  • Juniors (rising Seniors) - RESUME - must be completed for letters of recommendation
  • Sophomores (rising Juniors) - DO WHAT YOUR ARE survey and CAREER INTEREST PROFILE
  • Freshman (rising Sophomores) - LEARNING STYLE INVENTORY and STRENGTHS EXPLORER
SBA Parent Brag Sheets
Junior Parents should have received a "Brag Sheet" from the Counseling Office. The information that you provide will be a great help for Counselors to refer to when writing College recommendation letters for your daughter. If you haven't sent yours in yet, click the link below for your brag sheet.

Junior Families
All of our Juniors, soon to be Seniors, will receive a handout entitled "College Application Process".  We encourage all parents to read this information to familiarize yourself with the process itself and the responsibilities of students in the college application process. Please review this information with your daughter to help navigate the Naviance system which is a great tool in the application process.  The handout can be found below.

Seniors have finalized their college acceptances, but it's not too late to apply for Scholarships.  Check Naviance for scholarships with June and July deadlines!

***Attention: Rising Seniors....please check out the following Scholarship Tip Sheet provided by PHEAA. In addition to the scholarship websites included in the attachment, don't forget to check out NAVIANCE for additional scholarships.

Summer Student Leadership Program - Keystone Girls State (KGS)
Keystone Girls State is a non-partisan government and civics program designed to teach the importance of responsible citizenship and to empower young women to make a change in their community. Students who are rising seniors in high school will spend the week intensively working together to self-govern the state of "Keystone," meant to model current Pennsylvania's local, county, and state government. Citizens will have the opportunity to campaign and run for office, draft and present legislation in the KGS House of Representatives and Senate, and to be actively involved in the Judiciary System as modeled by the state of Pennsylvania.

At the end of the week, two KGS citizens will be nominated to attend Girls Nation.  GirlsNation "senators" will convene in Washington D.C. to campaign and run for "national" offices, draft and pass legislation in "Congress," and could possibly meet their State Representatives, Senators, and the President of the United States.
