Outstanding Balances
Blackbaud accounts will be locked at the end of the 1st quarter marking period on October 27 for all students with outstanding financial obligations. Outstanding book fees, registration fees, and sports fees MUST be paid. Accounts with outstanding tuition are also blocked. 

Students and parents will not have access to grades, and students will be ineligible to deposit or participate in other activities if past due obligations are not met.  Please contact the Finance Office at to resolve financial obligations on your account. Thank you.

We Need Your Help!
We are asking all parents to contact the state legislature in getting the budget passed so that our students will be eligible for the potential of an additional $20 million in EITC funds. Please contact your legislators and let them know that you depend on the EITC and OSTC programs. This money is currently sitting in the budget, and getting the budget passed would be a huge benefit for all!  Please click the link below to reach out and make your voice known!

Senior Portraits
Gurcsik studios will be here on Monday, October 30 from 10:00 through lunch or the subsequent studies to take the proof orders for Senior Portraits.

Physical Education Requirement
Students who are completing physical education requirements outside of school, please hand in your first timesheet in the office by Tuesday, October 31.  New timesheets are available in the office, as well as an attachment.

Winter Uniform 
Students should begin wearing their winter uniform on Thursday, November 2. The uniform is purchased through Flynn and O'Hara and includes the following:
· Gray/navy plaid skirt
· Navy blue blazer with logo (for special events)
· Blue sweater or 1/4 zip fleece with logo
· White tennis shirt with logo
· Full-leg navy tights or knee socks and saddle shoes
· Low-cut/no-show socks may be worn under the navy tights
· A white SBA shirt or white turtleneck/mock neck shirt should be worn under the fleece

Counseling & College Services
The SBA Counseling department is pleased to welcome SBA alumnae, Jessica Supperer, back to our school as a counseling intern.  The following is a message from Jess:
My name is Jessica Supperer and I graduated from Saint Basil Academy in 2014. I am currently enrolled in a 5-year Master's program for Community and Trauma Counseling at Jefferson University. I will be interning at SBA on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. under the supervision of Jennifer Corrick.

We are excited to have Jessica helping us out!

AP Tests:
The Collegeboard has announced the cost of the 2018 AP tests at $94 per test. Every student that has elected to take an AP class is required to take the AP exam in May of 2018, as outlined in the Program of Study. 
When making a payment please make all checks payable to Saint Basil Academy. If you wish to pay by credit card, please pay on the  SBA website. SBA will charge $94 per exam. We ask that all payments be made by October 31, 2017.
Financial Aid Presentation:
It's never too early to start planning for a college education for our children.  Please join us on Wednesday, November 15th at 7 pm in our Auditorium at Saint Basil Academy for the following presentation:

Drama Club

Students. please bring in your Drama Club dues.  Stage crew will be needed starting Saturday, October 28th.

Fall Drama
Saint Basil Academy Drama Club will be presenting " The Drama of Drama" , a collection of 3 plays which concentrate on the Drama that ensues in the high school theatrical world.  Performances will be held Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10/adults, $7/Seniors & Students and are available at the door.  Please come out and enjoy a full night of theater! 

Bring a canned good to donate and receive $1.00 off the ticket price!

Travel for Teens
The TFT Trip websites are live for the England Traveler Trip and Costa Rica Service Adventure Trip! Please check out the links for more information about each trip. 

The Travel for Teens parent meeting for both trips will be Tuesday, October 24th at 7 PM in the cafeteria.      
Fall Kairos
There will be  a meeting on Wednesday, October 25th at 7:00 PM in the SBA AP Room. for parents of those students attending Kairos from November 7-10th.  At least one parent or guardian of each attending student must be present at the meeting.  Please contact Miss Violi with any questions.

Please return the yellow volunteer forms that were handed out at Back to School night.
The volunteer form is also available on the SBA website.  We are asking that each family volunteer for at least 2 events this year.  A list of activities is on our webpage. There are student related events, Parents' Club events and Development  events. We have amazing people in place in Admissions, Development and Leadership.  Let's give them all the help we can.

New York City Bus Trip, Friday, December 8th:
Bus One is full. The second bus is filling up quickly.
The 50 reserved tickets that were preordered have been sold out.
We were able to obtain 20 more seats for the same price in a similar section.  If you are interested in attending the show please order your tickets quickly.

8:00 am: Departure from SBA / 8:30 pm: Return to SBA.
Cost: $35 per person (bus only).  Show Tickets: $60 per person.

The school store is taking orders for SBA personalized embroidered blankets. One corner of the blanket will have our School Shield. Another corner will have your daughter's first and last name, and "Class of 2018, 2019, 2020 or 2021." The price is $35.00.  
We will be taking orders for the next two weeks. Please place your order by November 4th.   This personalized blanket makes a wonderful gift!

Kevins Koats
Share the Warmth!  Since 2011, the Kevin from Heaven Foundation has partnered with the Krausey's Koat Drive as part of their mission to help others in need.  After the first year the Kevin from Heaven Foundation decided they would continue the program every year since it was so successful.  Donations will be distributed to those less fortunate in the tri-state area.  Donation boxes have been set up at SBA.   Please donate gently worn coats, scarves, hats, gloves and mittens for men, women and children through November 11th.
