Showcase Baseball Academy is honored to announce the 

addition of two highly regarded prep coaches to our coaching staff for the spring of 2017.

 

Peter Jenkins is currently the assistant baseball coach at Hough High School in Huntersville, NC.  Coach Jenkins, played baseball in college and was drafted as a catcher by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1996. After retiring from baseball in 2001, he began his coaching career at California State University and has served as an assistant coach at several universities including, Florida State University, Ohio State, Elon and Winthrop. In his roles at the college level, Coach Jenkins has instructed the collegiate athlete as a hitting, outfield and catching instructor.  Additionally, he has been a Recruitment Coordinator at both the Division I and Division II level.

 

We are energized by the skill Coach Jenkins brings to the players at SBA.  His experience will benefit our High School players both on the field and throughout the recruitment process.

 

Jimmy Cochran is the Head Baseball Coach at Hough High School.  During his first six seasons at Hough, Cochran has compiled an 113-59 record.  Cochran's teams at Hough have won four conference championships, a NC 4A Western Regional Championship, and his 2012 team finished as the 4A State Championship runner up. Coach Cochran has coached four All-State players as well as 28 All-Conference selections through the first six years of the program. He has seen 27 players from his Hough teams advance to compete at the college level.  Prior to Hough, Coach Cochran served as Head Coach at Parkwood High School, with coaching stops at East Mecklenburg and Porter Ridge High School.

 

Coach Cochran received his degree from Western Carolina University where he played baseball and was a member of the 2003 Southern Conference Championship team.
