Studio Art
The students in Mrs. Cipolla's Studio Art Skills through Portraiture class have been building their skills over the last 13 classes. Pictured are graphite and chalk drawings on toned paper. The students were studying the human figure, and using sports photography to capture the figure in challenging poses.

Safety Sisters
Students from the Safety Sisters Club participated in self-defense a class at AmeriKick Northeast. The goal of Safety Sisters is to further students situational awareness and safety. 

Honors Geometry
The Honors Geometry classes played the game "Hedbanz" with a math theme to help them review vocabulary and important concepts.
Broadcast Video Class
Helen Starrs, SBA alumnus of 2015, led a lively class seminar on how she employs her La Salle University education and communication skills in her role as a Producer for the popular WMMR radio morning show in Philadelphia.  She spoke in the Broadcast Video Class on Friday, January 11, and discussed how the choices she made in high school, where she was a student in the video class, and college, have led her to the world of professional communications. 
March for Life
On Friday January 18, several Basil students joined Immaculate Conception parish on a trip to the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.  Thousands of people from around the world gathered to peacefully march and pray for the end of abortion, supporting our Catholic belief that all life is sacred from conception until natural death.

Congratulations, Tia!
Tia Taylor 
has been invited to compete at the 112th NYRR Millrose Games on February 9 at The Armory in New York City.   The meet will be broadcast live on NBC. This is a special honor for Tia to be invited, as well as to compete at one of the country's most prestigious indoor track and field meets. Professional athletes,  as well as some of the best high school athletes on the east coast will be in attendance.  Congratulations, Tia!
The Basil basketball team clinched first place in the Catholic Academies with a 51-29 triumph over Merion Mercy on Thursday. The Panthers are now 19-0 overall and 12-0 in the league play, and have one league game left next Tuesday at Gwynedd-Mercy. Congratulations, Team!!

Congratulations to Casey Remolde!  Casey is the sixth player in Saint Basil history to score 1000 points!
