R.E.A.C.H. San Benito Parks Foundation
Success comes with Public/Private Partnerships!
We’ve come to the end of an unstable year, but the San Benito County Parks and Trails have offered peace for the soul, space to exercise safely, and a spot for families to gather outdoors. We are grateful for all of you supporting our efforts to make Parks and Trails available for everyone.

When the R.E.A.C.H. Board became aware of an opportunity to partner with San Benito County Public Works in the Clean California Local Grant Program, the San Juan to Anzar HS Bike Lanes screamed at us ‘with vigor’! There are many corners of the county that could use a ‘litter abatement facelift’, but this project would bring us a cleaner and better delineated 2.2-mile bicycle/walk/run lane out to the high school and back!

THANK YOU ALL for signing the Support Sheets at the Windmill Market, November 14 and 20. We are grateful to add over one hundred and thirty names to the Grant Justification for this Grant possibility. Doesn’t sound like much, but in a small community, it’s a good number.

The next steps will take us through February as the requirements for application are filled: forms, signatures, letters, match funds, community outreach, project fact sheets, photos, justification, data sheets, community need, insured maintenance, on and on. Having the SBC Resource Management Agency behind us in this first effort at Public/Private Partnership for Parks & Trails improvements will begin more possibilities for public spaces in the county.

Thank you, again!
