Sunday, April 25, 2021, is the 99th Anniversary of the Usher Ministry. We will have a broadcast that will acknowledge the Usher Ministry's 99 years of service!
"Ushering is a faithful service and an opportunity to serve God by serving His People. Matthew 20:38 states, ‘Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many’, We Serve Because God First Served Us.
The Usher Ministry of Second Baptist Church’s mission is to be of service to the church family when needed to further the Lord’s message of loving one another even as God has loved us. We fulfill our mission by ensuring the worship services are orderly when guests enter our sanctuary, assisting members to their seats, and providing guidance for worshippers during the offertory period. An usher in our church is more than a seat finder. They are the meeters and greeters to our service.
The ushers are looking forward to blessing everyone when the doors of the church are re-open so people will experience a worship service that brings them to Jesus Christ."

The Community Writers Group of Los Angeles (“CWGLA”) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2014 by the late Elise Woodson. The mission of the organization is to preserve African American history by recording and publishing personal narratives.
This year, CWGLA is introducing the We See You Creative Writing & Mentoring Program (“WSY Program”). They are looking for 11th and 12th-grade high school students from moderate to low-income communities in Southern California to participate in the WSY Program. There are 15 slots available for student participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Click below for more information about this opportunity.

"Since 1996, Angels Walk LA has been dedicated to enhancing pedestrian environments throughout Los Angeles by developing self-guided historical walking trails. Our walks exist to bring light to the rich and diverse history of our city by encouraging exploration and discovery of the significant people, architecture, events, and cultural movements that have shaped our great neighborhoods.
