The Lord's (Body) Prayer

During service this past Sunday, Pastor Tammy led us through an iteration of The Lord's Prayer that allows us to express ourselves through movement.

If you missed service or need a refresher, here she is doing the prayer in its entirety as an alternative method to connect to God.

21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.

Ephesians 6:18

It's time for our annual 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting experience beginning Sunday, January 15th.

Prayer and fasting enable us to seek, listen and hear God more profoundly than we typically do in our busy world. Fasting doesn't have to just be about food. This is a time to put aside any habit that may influence your life, such as social media or coffee.

Whatever it may be, put it aside for the next few weeks and use this time to draw nearer to God.

Join us as we connect with God and each other. Learn more on our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting page on SOBCC.org.

Taste the Good Life

with the Daniel Fast Cuisine

If you’re unsure what to eat as part of the upcoming 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting, wonder no more!

Stop by after service on January 15th for a taste of Daniel Fast Cuisine presented by the Body, Mind, and Spirit Ministry.

If you didn't know, the Daniel Fast comes from the book of Daniel, during which he relinquished food and wine during a three-week fasting period.

During this 1-hour session in the Multipurpose Room, we'll introduce you to samples of what you can eat during fasting and provide recipes for fresh, home-cooked meals.

Be sure to sign up for this event, as samples are limited, and let's prepare for a culinary experience that will enhance our fasting experience.

Community Event: Looking at Racial Trauma and Its Impact

The Jesus & Justice Collective is presenting a workshop providing an in-depth look at racial or race-based trauma and its impact on mental and physical health.

This workshop, keynoted by SBCC's Lynn Lockett, will share her insights into the long-term ramifications of racism and its role as we seek to demonstrate the love of God and His people.

Join us for this powerful event at Bridges Community Church on Sunday, January 15th, at 2PM

Pick-Me-Up of the Week

Elevation Worship & Maverick City Wait On You

Sometimes we all need a pick-me-up! In this case, a pick-me-up is a song, a scripture, a quote, or even a photo that can help remind us of God's love and care.

God speaks to us in many ways; sometimes, we must be prepared to listen. If there's a song you've heard recently or a selection of scripture that's helped you overcome a challenging week, then share it!

You can email the church with your pick-me-up to office@sobcc.org.
