Board of Retirement Election: General, Retired, and Alternate Retired Members of the Board of Retirement
An election will be held September 8 – September 29, 2020, to select three members of the Board of Retirement of the Santa Barbara County Employees’ Retirement System: one General, one Retired, and one Retired Alternate member. 

Interested members may submit a nomination packet, available at https://www.sbcers.org/board-of-retirement/board-elections/ , to either SBCERS office. Please contact the Clerk of the Board if you would like to pick up a blank packet from an office at clerkoftheboard@sbcers.org . Nominations are due to either SBCERS office by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020.

Ballots will be mailed to eligible members on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 and must be returned via USPS by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. The in-person count will take place at SBCERS Santa Barbara office on Wednesday, September 30.

SBCERS Santa Maria Office is Moving!
The Santa Maria office is moving in August! Please update your records with our new address beginning on August 24, 2020:

Our phone numbers, email addresses, and website have remained the same. Please note that both Santa Barbara and Santa Maria offices remain closed to the public until further notice due to COVID-19. We look forward to greeting you in our new home when it is safe to do so.
2020 COLA Tracker
For June 2020, Los Angeles Area Inflation (year over year) was 1.36%.

June 2020 Investment Results
The Total Fund returned 1.46 % for the month of June net of fees. Fiscal year ending June 30, 2020, the portfolio returned -0.12%, experiencing a loss of approximately $1.24 million.

June 24 & 25, 2020 Board of Retirement Meeting Highlights
At the Board of Retirement's June 24, 2020 meeting, the Board received a monthly Public Markets update, General Investment Consultant Strategic Plan, and Equity Structure Review from RVK, Inc. T he Board also approved COVID-19 related family leave and sick leave earnings codes for the Santa Barbara County Superior Court, Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District and Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District. Finally, the Board approved charters and SBCERS Bylaws.

At the June 25, 2020 meeting, the Board approved the 2020-2021 Fiscal Year Budget, and reviewed and approved the Securities Litigation Policy and the Elections Policy.

July 22, 2020 Board of Retirement Meeting Agendas Available
The next Regula r Board of Retirement meetings will be held remotely on July 22, 2020. You can watch the meeting via Youtube live stream at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC737ZNPI2eSJPcQlA5HfaNw/live .

RESBC is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of county retirees by providing information on critical retirement issues and offering educational/cultural social opportunities. Membership in RESBC is $2.50 monthly. Dues are deducted from the member’s Santa Barbara County pension payment. County employees may join RESBC by completing the RESBC Membership Deduction Authorization form at the time of their retirement exit conference.

RESBC Membership benefits include:
