I'll start by wishing you happy holidays, however you celebrate. The new year is just around the corner, and I look forward to what's ahead. In the new year, the SBE will continue to develop more educational opportunities for our members, with the plans already being laid for the NAB Show among other events. Our widely recognized Certification Program continues to keep up with new technologies and is celebrating 50 years with CertChallenge and CertConnect. There's plenty more in the works as the SBE continues to identify ways to better serve you, the SBE member, and broadcasting in general. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. Give Back With Your Experience: Become an SBE Mentor

The SBE Mentor Program helps broadcast engineers who are new to the field by partnering them with a more-seasoned professional. Share your experience with someone new to the field. For the seasoned mentor, it's a chance to give something back. For the freshman mentee, it's an ideal way to gain inside knowledge and understanding that can sometime take years to accumulate.

Want to share your knowledge, but don't want to be a regular mentor? Be a Subject Matter Expert. Lend your knowledge and experience in specific areas when the need arises.

SBE Already Planning for 2026 NAB Show

With the 2026 NAB Show coming in April, the SBE is already making its plans, and so should you. While many specifics are yet to be known, such as meeting rooms, the overall schedule is set. See what's on the agenda. The annual Membership Meeting and Member Reception are in the works. So is another two-day SBE Ennes Workshop at the end of the convention.

Among the goals of the Ennes (pronounced "EN-es") Educational Foundation Trust are to encourage the entry of young people into broadcast technical fields, to provide access to affordable technical media training courses and to encourage development of educational programs of value to the broadcast engineering community.
