State Bar of Nevada eNews

Family Law Focus of December Nevada Lawyer

Family law practice is an ever-changing area of the law in Nevada. The December issue of Nevada Lawyer magazine takes a look at some of the current issues affecting this complex specialty of the legal profession.

In the December issue, Melissa Exline offers an overview of the disparities in Nevada’s adoption laws, Marshall Willick explores how court appearances have changed since 2009, Raymond Dietrich reviews how new Department of Defense regulations and the Retired Pay Restoration Act will affect the Mansell decision, and Judge Michael Montero offers an inside look at transitional living in juvenile justice in the Sixth Judicial District. There is also a CLE article by Judge Gregory Gordon on the adoption of District Court Rule 27 on informal trials.

As always, the magazine includes regular features such as the president’s message, news and notes, and the bar counsel report. Be sure to check out the Nevada Lawyer archives for a lengthy list of back issues.
