Your Small Biz Update
From Clark County Purchasing
September 1, 2020
Greetings!

As you may know, Clark County has undergone a great deal of change in recent months including budget cuts and the retirement of many employees including our longtime Purchasing Manager, Adleen Stidhum. It has been a pleasure to work with Adleen over the years, directly serving hundreds of small businesses through the County's small business training programs. She was devoted to excellence, is deeply missed, and I feel honored to be entrusted with managing the Purchasing division while County leadership determines the next steps for our Purchasing team and SBOP.

Like every organization in America, the County--including SBOP--has been required to make countless adjustments related to the impact of COVID-19. Among the changes, SBOP classes are postponed until a date yet to be determined. Please know that through it all we remain committed to helping you understand how to do business with Clark County. When all the COVID-related emergent needs are met, we look forward to returning to the level of nurturing we have always worked to provide small businesses.

If ever you have questions about purchasing guidelines and procedures or feel our Purchasing team can be of assistance, please be sure to let us know. Email [email protected] or call (702) 455-2897. Meanwhile, we encourage you to watch your inbox for the SBOP monthly newsletter, as well as other email updates.

On behalf of the entire Purchasing team, thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this very challenging time. Here's looking forward to the day we can safely meet in person again.

To your success,

Adriane Garcia, MPA, CPPB

Maximize Your Access to New Contract Opportunities
Track Bid Solicitations in and Around Clark County
Small business owners wear a lot of different hats, making it easy to miss out on new contract opportunities until it is too late to bid. Whether working to land your very first contract, or seeking to increase the amount of work you do with the County, make sure you can learn about new opportunities as soon as they arise.

The County Purchasing team announces and manages procurement activities online through three sites--the County Purchasing website, NGEM, and Bonfire. NGEM and Bonfire also provide local small businesses with information and updates regarding opportunities to work with a variety of outside entities.

Clark County Website
SBOP recommends that you regularly check the “Current Opportunities” section of the County Purchasing website, where all of our current opportunities to work with the County are posted. For each project listed, you will also find instructions on how to get started with the bidding process.

NGEM - Opportunities With Multiple Agencies in Nevada
NGEM (Nevada Gov eMarketplace) is a supplier database where you can register your business to receive information about bid opportunities from more thanI 20 different entities including Clark County, the City of Las Vegas, Water Reclamation District, McCarran International Airport and more. To make sure you don't miss out on notifications about new opportunities make sure you register your small business online at NgemNV.com.

Bonfire - Opportunities Throughout North America
Bonfire is designed to help small suppliers search local opportunities by project type, with subscription options available for those seeking to do business on a wider scale. Local small businesses can register to search and receive notifications of available opportunities through Clark County’s Bonfire Portal.

Keep Your Information Up To Date
Once registered, be sure to keep your NGEM, Bonfire, and County business profiles up to date, entering changes in contact information, goods or services. If you add a new product or service it is important to update commodity codes to ensure you receive notifications of opportunities related to the new area of expertise. Make sure you can take advantage of every opportunity.
