SBTC Scores Truck Parking Victory in New York City,
Challenges NYC Council to grant concealed carry reciprocity so drivers can protect themselves especially since "NYPD is AWOL"
The Small Business in Transportation Coalition effects new emergency truck parking in NYC:

In the aftermath of the
about trucker safety, truck enforcement and truck parking, the city creates two new truck stop rest areas in the Bronx and Staten Island.

Score another one for SBTC
This morning, SBTC upped the ante and called on the NYC Council to respect Drivers' right to self defense and grant concealed carry reciprocity since 20% of NYPD's
Police Officers have called out sick.

Subject: appreciates the truck parking in your new Feeding New York plan but....

...Drivers are still without the means to protect themselves. You have not addressed this problem and that could affect your supply chain.

Your plan calls for more truck parking and that is great.

Now, let Truckers with concealed carry permits from their respective jurisdictions carry firearms within New York City to protect themselves.

NYPD is AWOL. It is time to grant reciprocity.

Respect Americans' right to self defense pursuant to Article 35 of the New York State Penal Law.

If you won't, the Secretary of Transportation copied here should.

We are currently suing the state of Indiana for $1 billion.

If we need to take you to Federal court for failure to afford truckers equal protection of the law, we will.

Your ridiculous vigilante anti-idling campaign in which you deny truckers the right to remain in climate control trucks which are their homes on the road violates your own habitability laws and is next on our list

Send Billy our regards.

SBTC Executive Director

Truck Drivers are struggling the past month with no masks, little access to COVID-19 testing, scarce food and facilities on the road, low freight rates, and autonomous vehicles on the horizon due to USDOT's trucker-unfriendly policies. We need to do more than just #ThankATrucker now... and then make truckers obsolete and replace them with unsafe driverless trucks right after the global Coronavirus epidemic ends.

The SBTC encourages all trucking groups to unite under the coalition to protect truckers' jobs and promote safety.

Over 20,000 Truckers, Small Carriers and other Americans have already
signed  in just four days!
