Timothy Glotch’s broad research interests include understanding the role of water in shaping the surface of Mars in terms of both mineralogy and geomorphology and using vibrational spectroscopy to understand the composition of Mars and the Moon. He is the Principal Investigator of the $5.5 million Remote, In Situ, and Synchrotron Studies for Science and Exploration (RIS4E) project, which is part of NASA’s Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute.
