This month, has already brought with it unprecedented attacks on reproductive rights and an administration that continues to disregard the rights of women, people of color and families.
Since the start of 2019,
bills attempting to restrict abortion
have been filed in 45 states. Anti-abortion lawmakers are aggressively pursuing a sweeping national strategy to dismantle reproductive health care and outlaw safe, legal abortion. An additional tragic revelation earlier this week involved the report of a Guatemalan toddler who died in a hospital earlier this week, just over a month after he and his mother crossed the southwest border and were apprehended. The boy is the fourth Guatemalan minor to die after crossing the border and being apprehended by the border patrol since December. Conditions at border detention facilities continue to be reported as inhumane - with no resolution in sight.
