Woody Green and Johnny Watts have been elected to serve on action teams for the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA). Jimmie Lee Shaw was re-elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the American Soybean Association (ASA).

The results are in for the National Corn Growers Association corn yield contest! Two SC farmers won awards at the national level: Landy Thomas and Daniel Gause III.

County-Level Corn Hybrid Trial Results – Now Available


Each year, Clemson Extension conducts corn hybrid trials across the state to evaluate hybrid performance.


Find results from 10 trial locations, including details on planting and harvest dates, seeding rates, soil type, hybrid name, and more.


Corn and Soybean Requests for Proposals are Open


The South Carolina Corn Board is now accepting RFPs for projects that benefit South Carolina corn farmers and strengthen the state’s corn industry.


📅 Proposals are due January 9 for corn and February 2 for soybean

National Updates

USDA announces a $12 billion Farmer Bridge Assistance Program

The new Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) Program will make targeted, one-time payments to row crop farmers as an “economic bridge” to the next planting season. This growing season, U.S. soybean farmers have faced a perfect storm of low crop prices, high production costs, and loss of markets. The FBA Program will provide farmers with some financial assistance to help cover carried debt from the 2025 season.

Commodity Payment Rates for FBA Program from USDA

Yesterday, USDA followed through their commitment to release the commodity by commodity payment rates for the Farmer Bridge Assistance Program. The payment rate for corn will be $44.36 per acre, up from the ECAP rate of $42.91 per acre.
