Everyone benefits from annual developer roundtable

SC Housing’s annual developer roundtable on June 14 drew dozens of interested parties together in person and virtually to discuss the agency’s Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) process.

Midlands woman finds new home with emergency voucher

Gail was able to secure an emergency housing choice voucher through SC Housing and was quickly able to find a new home in the Villas at North Lake in Lexington. The program provides housing opportunities for those lacking housing or facing homelessness, including those escaping domestic violence or trafficking dangers.

Officials break ground on new apartments in Columbia

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in late May for the 198-unit Haven at Congaree Pointe on Atlas Road in Columbia.

The development is a partnership between Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, which owns the 60-acre parcel, and Dominium, a developer building its first property in South Carolina. The tax credit property was also supported by the SC Housing Development team.

SC Housing hosts homeownership directors from Southeast

Southeastern Homeownership Directors Conference

Leaders of the homeownership programs of 10 state housing authorities came to Myrtle Beach in mid-May to the 2022 Southeastern Homeownership Directors Conference.

The event was hosted by SC Housing and included sessions on lender compensation and management, rising interest rates and building programs for the future.

SC Housing staffers celebrate milestone anniversaries

Several SC Housing employees are celebrating milestones this year: Each of them has been assisting South Carolina residents as state employees for either 10 or 20 years.
