House System Updates

House Assembly - Friday, February 14th:

All students may wear their House shirts with jeans on Friday, February 14th. 


Core Virtue of the Month House Challenge:

Virtues of the Month – Respect and Temperance

Through the month of February we are focusing on acts of Respect and Temperance:  

Respect - to consider worthy of high regard. Temperance - self-restraint or moderation in act, thought, or feeling.


Teachers and staff will be on the lookout to reward students with special Virtue of the Month Virtue Tickets for exhibiting behavior aligned with these Core Virtues. Each Virtue of the Month Ticket earned counts towards 5 points for the students' House.


January Service Challenge - Warm Wishes for Winter (Socks & Blanket Drive):

The January House Service Challenge Sock and Blanket Drive has ended. Together, SCA raised 1,074 items in donation to the Wesley Community Center of Savannah, which included 914 pairs of socks and 160 blankets!!! A big thank you to all for making SCA’s fundraiser a success!


The Upper School House winner of January’s Service Challenge is …… Reynolds!!! The Lower School House winner of January’s Service Challenge is ……Monterey!!!  

All 6th through 12th grade students in Reynolds and all PreK through 5th grade students in Monterey participated in their well earned Pizza & Wings Victory Lunch today!

House Academic Challenge - Poster Challenge!!

In preparation to celebrate Black History Month and earn points for your House, design a poster or submit an essay about a past or current African American figure who inspires you.  Entries will be accepted January 27th - February 14th to be displayed.

 

To help celebrate, the House that earns the most points through their submissions will be able to wear their House shirts with jeans on February 28th.

Place on the back of your submissions: 1. Your Name 2. Your House

Submit your Entries to: Elementary (K-5): Ms. LeGree; Middle School (6-8): Ms. Fields; High School (9-12): Ms. Lockhart

February House Service Challenge - Candy Gram Fundraiser!

Savannah Classical Academy is partnering with the Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce (GSBCC) to raise funds through candy gram sales to help support their mission. The mission of the GSBCC is to empower and educate African-American, other minorities, and women-owned businesses in the Savannah Metropolitan and surrounding areas that will foster a thriving and sustainable business environment.


Students may bring money to lunch to pre-order and reserve candy gram items starting February 5th through February 12th. Purchases will be distributed on February 14th. All proceeds will go to the Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce.


The House that earns the most points through their donations will earn a chocolate cake and frozen yogurt treat!


Candy Gram Prices:

Lollipops - $1; Conversation Heart Boxes - $2; Carnations - $2; Small /Stuffed Bear - $3; Singing Gram by a special guest to thank a SCA Teacher or Staff member - $5
