Hello Parents,
The school year is going very well. With the opening of this school year we welcomed one hundred and fifty five new students. This past Friday our first academic progress reports were sent to parents via electronic mail.
Additionally, I have some exciting news to share with you. SCA has been awarded a telehealth grant for our students, staff and their families. Nurse Parham and I will be trained on this service. The service provides care from a nurse practitioner. Initially, services will be for students and staff only with families being added in phase II. I will send you more details after our training this week. It is our desire to assist students, staff and families with this health care program and hopefully keep students in school and staff well.
We had our first House assembly this past Friday. All new students and staff were inducted into their house. We do not have a sorting hat, but we have a sorting CEO! SCA implements a House System to enhance our commitment to instill civic virtue and moral character by providing opportunities for staff and students in all grade levels to collaborate through events, activities, and challenges that strengthen our positive school culture. One small part of developing a cohesive House, is the opportunity for students and staff to wear House shirts at various events throughout the school year to show their House spirit. Stay tuned for more details on our House System and how you can help your child become more involved.
Each child will need their House shirt. Orders can be placed through the links below. This sale ends September 30th. Before Placing an order, be sure you have selected the correct House for your child. Please contact your child's teacher if you have a question about House membership. Friendly reminder that House Shirts are for currently enrolled students and SCA staff only.
House Shirt Challenge!!!
Each House Shirt purchase will earn a House Point. The House and Homeroom who receives the most House Points through House Shirt purchases will be able to wear their House Shirts every Friday in November with uniform bottoms.
