MN Realtor Ring Day

Minnesota Realtor Ring Day is Friday, December 5th, 2025.



New this year! Instead of sign up sheets, SCAAR Members can sign up at their time and store of choice online.

To register to ring:

·    Go to: registertoring.com

·    Select, “I’m ringing with a Group” (middle box)

·    Enter Group code: SCAAR

·    Select the shift and location and then click "Reserve Shift". Each shift is two hours.

·    If you do not already have an account click on "Create an Account". Fill in the information.

Deadline to sign up has been extended to this Wednesday, Nov. 26!!!!

Golf Task Force

Mark your calendars! Our next SCAAR Golf Tournament is set for August 10, 2026, and we can’t wait to see everyone back on the course for another day of fun!

As we head into the holiday season, we encourage members to keep their eyes open for local charities making an impact. Come April, we’ll begin the process of selecting our 2026 tournament charity partner, and your nominations are an important part of that decision. If you encounter an organization doing meaningful work over the next few months, make a note—we’d love to consider them.

More details will come as we get closer, but for now, be sure to save the date and keep those charity ideas in mind!

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee has been fairly quiet lately, and we anticipate that trend will continue through the holiday season. While things may be calm, we’re always keeping an eye on local issues—and we encourage you to do the same. If you notice something in your community where our association should be making its voice heard, please don’t hesitate to reach out.



We’re also welcoming new members! If you’ve ever considered getting involved, now is a great time. We’ll kick off our 2026 committee year with our first meeting on January 7th at 10:00 AM at the SCAAR Board Office. We’d love to have you join us.

Federal Housing Programs to Resume Following Government Spending Deal: Federal programs critical to the U.S. housing market are set to resume after the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday approved legislation to fund the government and end the longest shutdown in American history. The measure, which passed the Senate 60–40 on Monday, has been signed into law by President Donald Trump. The agreement funds the federal government, including federal housing programs, and provides an extension of insurance-writing authority for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through Jan. 30, 2026. Minnesota Faces a $1 Billion Property-Tax Levy Rise. Here’s How Some Homeowners May Get a Pass: Minnesota homeowners are staring down what could be one of the biggest jumps in property taxes in recent years after local governments proposed nearly $1 billion in additional levies for 2026. It's a 6.9% statewide increase at a time when monthly housing costs are already stretching household budgets thin. Minnesota ranks above the national average in property taxes across most major property types, according to a 2024 50-state comparison. Click here to read more.

Project Connect was a success!

We were able to distribute countless coats, hats, mittens, scarves, and socks to community members in need. Again, a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who donated items and to all who volunteered their time—you truly make a difference!

We are now turning our attention to our next initiative:

Adopting a family for the holiday season - We look forward to making the holidays a little better for a family in need.
