WHAT'S NEW?

Ag Systems Certificate


Do you know someone who wants to learn about farming and start training for a better job? Fresno City College is offering an Ag Systems Certificate.


Classes can be completed online and in-person support is available whenever needed.

CALPRO Online Integrated Education and Training (IET) Implementation Clinic


The California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO) and the California Department of Education is offering a unique professional learning opportunity! Join other agency teams of ESL and ABE/ASE instructors, CTE instructors, and program administrators for an IET Implementation Clinic.

Adult Education and Family Literacy Week

September 16-20, 2024


Once a year, educators from all over the country join together with adult learners, community partners, business leaders, legislators, and friends of adult education to amplify their successes! COABE has developed a calendar of activities, resources, and much more. Join your colleagues to celebrate the national Adult Education and Family Literacy Week!

Madera Adult School


Andrew Gallegos is, in his words, "A proud graduate of Madera Adult School," and was selected as Student of the Year by the Madera Adult School staff. His journey took him from prison to MAS to earn his diploma.

Our staff continues to be available to assist students with community resource referrals, academic and career counseling, financial aid assistance, and college application assistance.

CalPRO Teaching Skills That Matter in Adult Education (TSTM)


The Teaching Skills That Matter in Adult Education project trains teachers to integrate the skills that matter to adult students using approaches that work across critical topics.


A recent research brief summarized this nationwide implementation pilot. Read the brief here.


The TSTM Toolkit was developed by adult education experts to support teachers in using approaches that work to help students gain the skills that matter. Access the Toolkit here.



Fresno County Public Library


In addition to many other services, The Fresno County Public Library offers assistance with job and career searches, services for New Americans and Veterans, and homework help.


The library's newest resource for career assistance is CAreer Pathways. The resources available through CAreer Pathways are another way in which libraries aid in personal economic development, increase digital equity, and support the information needs of the public.

Root and Rebound Reentry Advocates


Root and Rebound works to support people navigating reentry and reduce the harms perpetuated by mass incarceration. In addition to other services, they provide free legal support for people with convictions/arrest records in California.
