WHAT'S NEW

SCAEC Immigration Workshop (Zoom)

February 26, 2025


SCAEC, along with San Joaquin College of Law and CVIIC, is hosting an online immigration workshop to help students stay up to date on the latest U.S. immigration policies. The workshop will be offered at both 10:45 am and 6:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26th.

School Bus Driver Course


Chawanakee Unified School District is offering two School Bus Driver courses this spring. Sessions will be held February 25-27 and March 4-7.

The Fresno County Public Library, along with Golden 1 Credit Union, is offering a three-week series on financial literacy for adult learners looking to learn more about money. Each workshop will be held on Zoom.

Disaster Preparedness Workshop

The Community Housing Council of Fresno is offering a FREE hands-on workshop where you'll learn essential disaster preparedness skills. Registration is currently open and limited to 75 attendees.

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center's Higher Education Technical Assistance Project is a statewide effort supported by the California Department of Social Services.


The ILRC website at www.ilrc.org lists a number of services available to immigrants to help clarify complicated immigration issues. If someone you know needs assistance, be sure to check out the community resources tab.

Salinas Valley Adult Education Consortium Watch Party Presentations


SVAEC is presenting on topics which may be of interest to adult students, particularly undocumented students. They are encouraging adult schools to host watch parties at their sites to keep their students informed.


  • February 27: Validating Foreign Degrees
  • March 20: Opening Your Business with/without an SSN
  • April 24: Citizenship Mock Interview


Morning and evening presentations are available on each date. The first hour of the presentation will be in Spanish and the second hour in English.

Root and Rebound works to support people navigating reentry and reduce the harms perpetuated by mass incarceration. In addition to other services, they provide free legal support for people with convictions/arrest records in California.
