Greater Richmond SCAN is currently one of the top 3 finalists in the running to win a security system from the Richmond location of Security 101 and we need YOUR help!

A new security system would increase safety for SCAN staff and volunteers who work in our main office and offer security for the families who come to us for help. Voting will be open from November 19 through December 10. Please feel free to promote voting on any platform you would like. You can vote once a day per email.

SCAN's BYP Brings Magic of the Holidays to SCAN Families
SCAN's Board of Young Professionals hosts the annual Santa Shop in December to help provide families involved in SCAN's programs the opportunity to "shop" for toys for the holidays.

SCAN's BYP is a powerhouse of hardworking individuals with a passion for SCAN's mission. Their two signature events include the SCAN Santa Shop and the Blue & White Ball .

Each year they host toy drives for SCAN families, coordinate shopping efforts for SCAN parents, create crafts and activities for the children, and so much more that goes into making the Santa Shop a magical experience for those families being served by SCAN.

This year's Santa Shop is being coordinated with the leadership of event chair, Ashley Silva, and Co-Chair, Marly Santoro. We are so grateful for their efforts!

A huge thank you to the James Center for their continued support in making this event possible! Thank you to WRIC 8news for publicizing the James Center toy drive.

This event is also made possible through the support of many amazing volunteers and toy drives powered by CarMax , Thalhimer , KPMG , Kappa Delta at UR , Garden Grove Brewing and Urban Winery , 301 Auto Repair , CoStar , UPS , St. Catherine's , Circle S Studio and many more!

SCAN Partners Create Sensory Kits
We were delighted to have the staff at Agili spend their staff retreat learning about SCAN, screening Resilience and creating sensory kits for children and parents served by SCAN.

Members of St. James's Episcopal Church also came together recently to hear more about SCAN's work and build sensory kits.

These sensory kits include items such as play doh, fidgets, mandala coloring supplies, and a number of other items that can help sooth the senses. Little things can make a big difference and kits created by both groups are already helping children who visit SCAN's Family Support Program and Child Advocacy Center build resilience.
