Juliet Bloodgood Chairs
20th SCAN Progressive Dinner and Auction
Juliet Bloodgood serves on SCAN's Board of Directors and is the 2022 Progressive Dinner and Auction Chair. Her commitment to SCAN through her work on the Board and as part of the Progressive Dinner planning committee for several years has been incredible. Her leadership, hard work, and coordination expertise has meant so much to SCAN!

How did you first get involved with SCAN?
When we first moved here from California, our neighbor Amy Quigley invited us to attend the Progressive Dinner. The next year I joined the planning committee. I was drawn to the cause and the experience led me to meet so many new, wonderful women around Richmond!

What has your life/work experience been that brought you to SCAN?
Prior to staying home with my children I worked in investment banking and then strategy and mergers & acquisitions in New York and San Francisco. Being on the board at SCAN and now chairing the Progressive Dinner has really allowed me to get involved in a new area of work.

What inspires you to stay involved with SCAN?
It feels like every single time I am in a meeting with someone at SCAN, I learn about another important piece of work they are doing to help families in our community. Hearing personal stories of those touched by SCAN re-inspires me every day.

What has been the best experience with SCAN so far?
Attending the SCAN breakfast is always a wonderful experience. It is a great chance to learn more about SCAN while being surrounded by so many wonderful supporters. Being relatively new to Richmond, it is a great reminder of how special this community is. In 2019, we were given the opportunity to hear from a family helped by SCAN, along with the police detective who shared how he works with the SCAN Child Advocacy Center and Greater Richmond Trauma Informed Community Network.

Are you involved with any other community organizations, hobbies, or activities?
I am very involved at my children’s school - my three young boys keep me busy! Our family loves the outdoors and we spend a lot of time in Wintergreen.

What might someone be surprised to learn about you?
I grew up in Buffalo, NY and absolutely love the snow! I also enjoy Richmond’s more temperate seasons and am looking forward to a beautiful spring!
