Weekly news & updates

November 19, 2021
Dear SCBA Parents:

Each week at our All School Mass, I am reminded how fortunate we are to be in a Catholic school where our scholars can proclaim the word of God! What a gift for each of us. I was able to sit with the Kindergarten scholars at Mass this week. Watching each of our Kindergarten scholars participate in Mass and be prayerful is a true gift. God is good!

I hope that each of you are looking forward to our Thanksgiving break! I am looking forward to preparing the turkey for a few of my family members. I love being able to create something that everyone can enjoy! I hope your family has traditions that you will be able to participate in this year.

Next week, we will celebrate Grandparents Day! All our grandparents and/or special guests are invited to meet their scholar(s) at church and attend our All School Mass at 9 am. After Mass, grandparents and/or special guests will be able to visit their grandchild’s classroom. We are so blessed to have this opportunity to show our scholars’ grandparents and/or special guests our school and classes.

If a scholar’s grandparents or special guests will be taking the scholar home after visiting the classroom, please let your scholar’s teacher know! Teachers will have a sign out sheet for the grandparents and/or special guests to sign the scholar(s) out. SCBA dismisses at Noon that day. Extended care is open until 6 pm.

Blessings for a peaceful weekend.

SCBA Basketball Information
Grades 2-8

Basketball season is just around the corner with practices set to start the week of November 8 and November 15. SCBA offers basketball for our Student Athletes in grades 2 through 8

Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders play in the Pius league at St. Pius X High School.
Our 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders play in the Parochial League (PLKC).

Teams typically practice twice a week with games on Saturdays. Games will be starting after the 1st of the year with a few preseason tournaments before and during the Christmas break for our older grades.

All students wanting to participate need to register on the PLKC website.

We need you to register ASAP so that we can make sure everyone wanting to participate has a team to play on. Some grades will potentially have to combine with other schools if we do not have sufficient numbers of SCBA students.
