Weekly news & updates

February 12, 2021
Dear SCBA Parents:

-----Greetings from one of the coldest weeks of the school year! I pray that everyone has been staying warm. This weekend we will celebrate Saint Valentine’s Day. Our 6th grade class presented a skit during Mass this week that had to deal with Saint Valentine’s story. Mrs. Tomes and the 6th grade scholars did an excellent job sharing the story and teaching us all more about Saint Valentine. We are blessed to have the opportunity to tell those around us that we love them. This is the greatest gift we can offer one another! Watch the skit HERE or find it below!

-----Last week we sent out the registration information for the 2021-2022 school year! Please make sure you complete the paperwork and submit it with the registration fee. We are asking for all our current families to enroll by March 19, 2021. If your family will not be returning to SCBA for the 2021-2022 school year, please let me know this information as well. Our goal is to know the plans of all our current families by March 19, 2021. Thank you for being a part of our wonderful school and parish community.

-----Thank you for all your support of the SOUPER Bowl last week. SCBA donated 865 canned goods and a total of $2,050.00 in cash to the Food Pantry. This is a total of 4965 canned goods to the food kitchen! THANK YOU for supporting our parish project for our Food Pantry. They had a record-breaking Souper Bowl, collecting 34,263 cans of soup!

-----This next week we will be celebrating Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. This is a special time in our Church and will be a special time in our school! We will be sharing how SCBA will be honoring Lent as we move through Lent.

-----Stay warm this weekend.

Many blessings,

Dr. Hopson

Camp Savio

It’s time for Camp Savio 2021 registration! Don’t miss out!! Those students completing 5th -8th grades may register online for the week of June 14th -19th . We have 20 spots reserved for our parish. Once those spaces are filled, you will be placed on a waiting list. Click below to register and to find out more. (Please note: Though it may say that the week is filled, there are still some of the 20 spots remaining. That has been confusing for folks.)

At Camp Savio, the motto is Play Hard, Pray Harder. There are daily games and activities, coupled with Mass, Adoration, and Confession.

Once you register online, the $150 deposit is due to the Parish Office by March 25th. The balance of $225 will be due to the parish by April 25th . We do have plans to do some fundraising to defer costs, which would lower the balance due in April.

Any adults who’d like to chaperone should contact the Parish Office @ 816.436.0880.
Other camp questions can be directed to Molly Berg @ 816.589.8818.
