UPDATE: THE CAROLINAS REGION ANNUAL CONFERENCE
"Crafting Characters"
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the aftermath it will cause, we have made the difficult decision to move our conference to an online format this year. We are thrilled to announce that all of the previously confirmed publishing professionals are eager to participate, and our team is hard at work planning a stellar event!
We believe that offering this event free to our members is the best option for our region and know that a large percentage of our membership has never had the chance to attend a conference. This will be a way to share a revised version of the traditional "conference experience" in a way that we hope will bring joy and unity.
We hope our members will see this as an opportunity to receive quality programming while also supporting our community at large during this strange time in our history. As stated, this was a very difficult decision. Thanks so much to those of you who have reached out and offered support.
(Our hope is to resume the in person conference on our regular September weekend in 2021!)
|
ATTENTION ILLUSTRATORS!
We hope you have been able to use this time in quarantine to be creative! Even though this year's conference will be conducted online, portfolio reviews will still be available! With this new format, you will be required to send your portfolios to your reviewing faculty 6 weeks in advance of your critique session. We wanted to give you heads up at this point because normally you submit your portfolio the day of your critique, and this format will require more work ahead of time. We are very excited about our faculty and will provide more details as we have them. Thanks!

Book Stores
During
COVID-19
|
Independent Book Stores are community cornerstones. These establishments support and champion authors around the country, and now, more than ever, they need our support in return! These stores provide so much more than good reading materials. They implement a sense of belonging, creativity, and possibility for everyone who visits. So, if you're shopping for yourself or a friend, try to buy local and support these stores!
